Hi Everyone,

"I'm not hungry!" We'd been out and my husband had been snacking on junk food all afternoon, so when it came to dinner time he wasn't hungry.

Matthew 5:6 says "God blesses those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they will be satisfied."

Psalm 42:1-2 says "As the deer longs for streams of water, so I long for You, O God..."

So what does it mean to hunger and thirst for God?

It's to search for Him, to seek the things of God, to want to be in His Presence and just enjoy time with Him. It's the place where we find healing, deliverance, joy, strength and peace.

Here is a quote from evangelist C. Nuzum.

"The things of God are so precious, He will not give them to those who do not greatly desire them. It is those who hunger and thirst who are filled."

What the world offers is just junk food, eg entertainment, TV programs, money, all material things, they are not bad but you will find that they do not really satisfy.

They may fill you at the time but it's just temporary and the more you have the more you want because it's just not what our heart really needs, there's an emptiness in all of us that only God can fill.

2 Corinthians 4:18 says... " We fix our gaze on things that cannot be seen. For the things we see now will soon be gone, but the things we cannot see will last forever."

Jeremiah 29:13 says "If you look for Me wholeheartedly you will find me."

So how much do you hunger and thirst for the things of God?

How much do you desire the things of His Kingdom? Or do the things of this world seem more appealing?

In Matthew 6:33 Jesus said..."seek first His Kingdom and righteousness and all these things will be given to you as well."

He was speaking about all their everyday needs and it's the same with us. How can HE not provide all our needs when He was willing to sacrifice His precious Son, Jesus Christ just so He could win us back from the enemy, satan, and have us back into a relationship with Him?

When we get up in the morning He's there waiting for us to chat and enjoy time with us, after watching over us throughout the night. 'You mean God watches me as I sleep?' Yes, Read Psalm 121!

How about we all make an effort to spend time with God instead of filling up on junk food that the world offers? You will find so much peace and joy! I warn you it's addictive, but it's a good addiction! So Bon Appetite! Enjoy feeding on God's Presence and Word! You can overeat but it will make you spiritually fat! And that's a good fat!
