Hi Everyone,

Here we are, at the beginning of a new year and you may be wondering what this year holds. Well, I guess no one knows, but one thing we do know is that God does things in His timing, not ours but, as long as we stay close to Him, we can be secure or at peace no matter what is happening around us.

So I was thinking about how sometimes we think that things happen suddenly, but the truth is that most of the time God has been planning it and moving the chess pieces from the beginning and when the time is right we see it manifest in the natural realm.

Here are some examples that I’ve been reading about, have a read of these or you will realize that everything has a time and a place for a reason.

Ecclesiastes 3:1 says “There’s a time for everything, and a season for every activity under heaven.” (read Ecclesiastes 3:1-11)

  • Look at Queen Esther (Esther 4:14) God put her in that position to save the Jews.
  • Sarah and Abraham (Genesis 21:1-2) “The Lord did for Sarah what He had promised….at the very time God had promised him.” (Genesis 18:10, Romans 9:9)
  • Joseph (Genesis 41) If he had not been a slave, or a prisoner in Egypt he could not have been the governor to save Israel/ Jacob and his family.
  • Moses (Exodus 3) He tried to do things in his timing, but it cost him 40 years of training as a shepherd, and in God’s timing, he saved the Hebrews from slavery.
  • David – In 1 Samuel 16. Samuel anointed him as King of Israel, but it wasn’t until 2 Samuel 2:4 that we read that he became King. He had to fight Goliath first in 1 Samuel 17.

You can be sure that if God is preparing you for a position or a particular task, you will have giants to fight! But be assured that they are not there to destroy you but to promote you!

  • Joshua – He was trained as a leader for 40 years under Moses before he led the Israelites into the promised land.
Read Joshua 5:11-12. This scripture so encourages me nothing is co-incidental with God.
“The day after the Passover, that very day, they ate some of the produce of the land… The manna stopped the day after they ate this food from the land.”
    Perfect timing!
  • Jeremiah – Jeremiah 1:4-5 says “Before I formed you in the womb I knew you, before you were born I set you apart; I appointed you as a prophet to the nations.”
  • What about John the Baptist (Matthew 3) He was appointed and sent out just to prepare the way for Jesus’ entrance into the world. No other ministry or miracle but just a voice shouting in the desert. (Isaiah 40:3, Luke1:76-80, John 1:29 and 36).
  • Jesus – There is so much we could say about the coming of Jesus. God began to prepare for His coming from Genesis 3:15. Many of the prophets told of His coming. Look at Isaiah 7:14, 9:1-8, 35:3-6, 53:1-12, 61:1-3, etc. John 1:1-14. Romans 5:6 says “…Just at the right time, when we were still powerless, Christ died for the ungodly.”

You see, God had planned our salvation from the fall of man in Genesis, but it was in His timing that Jesus appeared. The Scripture also talks to us about Jesus’ return and the New Jerusalem, but it will all be in God’s timing. (Isaiah. 65:17-25, Revelations 21)

So, you may be saying, what does this have to do with me?

Every one of us was created, called and anointed to do what God has appointed us to do at this time and at this place! (John 15:16) No one is a mistake, and there are no coincidences in God’s timeline, but only God’s incidences! Your parents may not have planned you at that time or place, but in God, you are no mistake and He has a plan and a purpose for your life.

(Jeremiah 29:11-13) You were born for “Such a time as this”.

The reason you and I are here at this time is because God has a work for us to do, before Jesus returns. You may know what it is, you may be doing it now or you may not be sure, but make no mistake, you are unique and created for a purpose. (Read Psalm 139)

So let’s all come together in unity and do what we are called to do as we await the return of our Savior and Lord Jesus Christ! If you’re unsure, go alone in a quiet place and let the Holy Spirit guide you.

“Others may do a great work, but you have your part to do. And no one in all God’s heritage can do it so well as you.”  (From 'Stream in the desert and Springs in the Valley'…)

More Scripture:
Mark 14:41, John 8:19, 10:17-18. Matt 26:18 +45, 24:42 and 44, 25:13, 26:18+45, Psalm 31:15 etc.

God bless you all and have a great week!
Actually, have a great year!
