Hi Everyone,

How many times have you heard people say, “If I only had more faith…” We’ve all said it ourselves, but Jesus said we only need the faith the size of a mustard seed (Matt 17:20-21), and we could move the mountains in our lives. We all have faith, we needed faith to receive Salvation, so it’s not faith that’s the problem many times, often our faith needs to be strengthened which we do by reading the Word, but most likely its unbelief.

Can we have faith and unbelief?

Yes, I believe we can! What we see and hear can cause unbelief.

In Mark 9:17-27, the father had enough faith to take his son to Jesus but yet found it difficult to believe that he could be healed because of what he saw. That’s why he says to Jesus, “I do believe but help me overcome my unbelief.” Same with the disciples, they had tried to heal the boy, but when they saw the boy thrown on the ground by a demonic spirit, it caused unbelief.

Mary and Martha had enough faith, in John 11:1-44, to call on Jesus when their brother was sick, but once he had died, the situation looked impossible, so unbelief set in.

We all battle with this because what we see, feel, and hear can be so overwhelming, but we can choose what we look and listen to.

In Mark 5:36 is says that Jesus ignored what they were saying and said to Jairus, “Don’t be afraid, just believe.”

Let us ignore all the voices in our heads and the negativity which surrounds. Let us instead stand on the Word of God. Man has complicated the Good News with formulas, ideas, and opinions, but all God asks of us is simply to believe. He wants us to take Him at His Word because that will never change. (Matt 24:15)

In John 4:50 is says, “the man took Jesus at His word and left.“  He received because he didn’t question Jesus but believed. We must learn to take God at His Word and not try to reason everything out. Our brains can be our worst enemy at times.

Abraham received his miracle because he believed God would do what He had promised, even though, in reality, it was impossible. (Romans 4:16-21)

It doesn’t matter what everyone says or thinks about us; it’s what God says to us, about us and for us, that is important for our Christian walk. It’s time for believers to start believing!

What seems an impossible situation in your life? Mark 9:23 says, ”Nothing is impossible for him who believes.” In Jeremiah 32:17, he says, “Ah Sovereign Lord! You made the heavens and earth by Your strong hand and powerful arm. Nothing is too difficult for You.”

It’s not about our faith but His faithfulness! So let’s learn to take God at His Word and expect the unexpected!

God Bless You All!

Love, Giovanna
