Bushfire appeal

From The Ashes We Will Rise

EMERGENCY RELIEF WITH A DIFFERENCE

Want to help those affected by the fires and drought locally, but don’t know how? Please read on to see how WE can be part of the solution together!

We have been given the opportunity to respond to the current need in 3 key areas:

  • Bush-fire affected farmers

  • Drought affected farmers

  • Emergency accommodation

Mark Bateman, Chaplain to Motor Sport has been doing work assisting Victorian Farmers struggling from drought in the Wimmera region (South of Mildura to West of Bendigo to the South Australia Boarder).  They currently purchase round hay bails from local farmers and transport them at a cost of $50 per bail (reg $90). In 2019, some 347 semi loads were transported to drought affected areas in Victoria.

They are now expanding their aide, to include East Gippsland bushfire affected farmers, who have no way of feeding their livestock. There are 5 communities of over 1,000 farmers between Bairnsdale, Buchan and Orbost that are in desperate need of your assistance. Many of these farmers are isolated from one and other and require personal support.

Your donation will not only transport hay bails, but it will help establish a collection point where these farmers can connect with one another receiving support from  trained chaplains. Farmers may not accept assistance for themselves but they will for their animals. This two pronged approach will help feed their livestock, save their livelihood and surround them with a much needed community.

The initiative to include the bush-fire affected farmers won’t happen on its own, we need YOU to help, or you may like to support the Wimmera drought affected farmers or perhaps emergency accommodation.

Where ever your heart lies, #CASEYLOVETHISCITY initiative is an avenue for you to make a difference that will help restore our fellow Australians affected by the bush-fires and ongoing drought.  Let’s show our Victorian farmers that Casey is responding in practical ways to help.
