Hi Everyone,

I’ve been thinking lately about the goodness of God, His faithfulness, His love, how much He has done for us and so much that He does every day that we don’t even recognize or acknowledge that He was involved. I’ve become more and more conscious of all these, what we call coincidences, which are really God-incidences!

As I pondered on this, I thought about how much He has done for me in the past and wondered what can I do for Him?

I thought about the woman who came to Jesus in Matthew 26:6-13 (have a read) with an alabaster jar of very expensive perfume, and how she poured it over His head. Jesus said "She had done a beautiful thing to ME.” (Vs 10)

She didn’t do it to get something from Him but with a grateful heart, she wanted to do something for Him.
Mark 14:3-9 tells this event also.

In John 12:1-8 we read of how Mary, Lazarus’ sister took a pint of pure nard, expensive perfume and poured it over Jesus’ feet and wiped His feet with her hair. She didn’t do it to get something from Him but with a grateful heart, she wanted to do something for Him.

In John 19:38-42 we read of how Joseph of Arimathea accompanied by Nicodemus, took the body of Jesus and anointed it, wrapped it and placed it in a new tomb. They didn’t have to do that, after all, He was now dead, so they didn’t do it to get something from Him but out of respect and reverence they did it for Him!

All these people just wanted to do something for JESUS because of all He had done for them and in recognition of Who He was!

So, it made me think, all I can do is worship Him, but do we serve Him and worship Him to get points from Him? Or to get Him to love us more? He can never love us more than He does… just look at the cross.

“Greater love has no one than this, that He lay down His life for His friends.” (John 15:13)

Or maybe as a duty, cause that’s what we do at church? Or do we worship Him because we love Him, thank Him and acknowledge all He has done for us and does for us and for Who He is!

He is worthy of all our worship and praise but not just on a Sunday but every day! We can worship Him at home in prayer, in song and we can worship everywhere we go with our loves.

I want my life to worship Him whether I’m alone or with others but not just to get something from Him and there’s nothing wrong with asking for help or whatever our need is. Jesus said, “Ask and you receive…” (John 16:24). But just because I love him and want to do something for Him!

How about you? What can you do for Him?
